My Best 42 Golf Strokes and a Wonderful Birthday Dinner.

4th August Sat, had to get up at 7am in the morning to play greens at mandai. To think i had a very sinful supper with Steph the nite before.(Super thick oily Mutton Soup) I had to force myself to get up from my bed, drive down to meet Dennis and Ian. 7.30 i joined them up in the queue for theTee-off at the 9 hole golf course. The honour was mine to Tee-off first at the first hole. I hit it sweet with a 7 Iron and it land 20 meters away from the hole in a Par 3 abt 140 yards hole. I knew this is the day that we are going to play some good stuff.

I was dissapointed with hole 4, it's a par 5 hole however i tee-off badly. Fortunately i redeem myself on my 2nd stroke to launch it a further 100 yards. Dennis and Ian Tee-off using a fairway wood. I couldn't use this because i had not master the swing on this club. I had the confidence to get a par on hole 6. My favourite hole since the first time i play the course i got a par at this hole. Using a P, i caught it sweet again but my putting was poor. it was a boogie. Final hole 9 made my day, i tee-off using an Iron 7 and it flew str8 into the greens. This was the best stroke and ball flight of the day. I got what i wanted, a PAR On HOLE 9. This is the fifth time i played this course and manage my best score so far 42 out of 29 min strokes. We were fierce dudes on the day, i had to master my fairway wood. Pulai Springs HERE i COme!!

9th August , national day holiday. 4 days before my birthday. The guys(Dennis,Kelly, Feebs) decide to have a joint birthday celebration for feebs and myself. We had planned this day for Dennis to cook for Kelly and me. The couple is so sweet to make dinner for us. Angy and Feeb's niece joined for dinner as well.

Brocolli Mix Vegetables

Porkchops fried with Peppers aww... so yummy.. This fish is delicious!!!!

Chilli Crabs... The Dennis Creation. I like to quote his wife " it's very soupy".Ii would say " it's still very nice..."

Kelly bought this wonderful cake from Secret Recipe somewhere in suntec and it's called Chocolate indulgence.

This is realli a wonderful cake. So much cream inside and the chocolate is soo smoothe. The cakes blends so well in your mouth with the chocs and cream. i HAD 2 SLICE since it's an indulgence. I think we should get this cake again for the next birthday gathering.

Feeb's Flowers.
I like to say Thank you guys for the wonderful Dinner. Thank u Kelly for your wonderful cake and Royce chocolates. You guys had been wonderful. I realli njoyed myself on this day!! :)

Tommy Emmanuel - Maestro form down under (21st July 2007)

I couldn't take a nap in the afternoon, im about to watch Tommy Emmanuel tonight. One of the 3 whom is a certify guitar player in the world by the late GREAT Chet Atkins. My first visit to the Esplanade to watch this Guitar God from Australia. We had to wait for David to arrive as he holds our 2 tix. Imagine getting a close up on Mr Emmanuel, 1st Row Centre Seats.!!!! O my god, am i some kind of celebrity? Well i did not see any inside, but Chris and myself reckon that 90 % of them are guitarist of some sort. David was late, concert starts at 730pm. David came 735, he had to wait for frens. Chris and me had to be seated at the outer rows while Tom is playing the first piece to avoid disturbance to the audience watching. Once he finished, we were ushered to the front seats. Bingo....the speaker is infront of me with Tom on the stage.

I was pretty tired(no nap!) by then but Tommy was breathetaking. His fingering was so damn good i couldn't believe it. Fingering, harmonics, tapping and percussion were flawless and in absolute harmony. He had 3 Maton Guitars which look damn worn off like being out in the desert with the finishing all gone due to his whacking on the guitar Top. Tommy sang as well which happen to be a surprise for me but it was good as he praise the lord in one of the songs. Particularly sweet was when he played "Angelina" for her 2nd daughter in UK. Then came "Ruby's Eye" which i think is on his new album, written for this little girl which happens to be infront of him while he open his eyes composing a new song. Then he played"Padre" a piece he had written for his Ex pa-in-law which happens to be my favourite. "Questions" came, a piece that woke him up in a hotel with mist that most inspiring to me. "Initiation" a musical dedicated to the Aborigines which i find absolutely wonderful that so much music and sound came out from such a little wooden box which none of the musical instruments are capable of. It was magically brilliance just listening in the front row. Then he did "Tall fiddler", one he wrote for this tall fren in the states and Tommy played the guitar sounding like a fiddler pulling the strings..if you know what i mean. Finale came with an encore as he did numbers from Beattles. The show ended with a standing ovation. I could go on and on..... but it's time for bed...hehe

Thank you Tom for the experience you gave, it is truly inspiring and wonderful. Tommy Emmanuel a remarkable human being.

The day i wore a shirt wif a matching Tie. (For Super Duper Mum+Lawyer -Sharon Foo)

The day i wore my FCUK $50 bucks GSS Shirt cum Tie. As usual our department guys don't wear ties. On top of the hot weather the body realli need some kind of ventilation. The only person that wore a tie is Bernard. Well they used to have a dress code for the guys to have it on before i join 3 yrs back. But i just couldn't refuse myself not to buy this shirt from Fcuk. first of all im a regular buyer and secondly ive always always wanted a shirt w a matching Tie After Matt Le Blanc wore in on Friends. Well anyway i thought the shirt was radical and cool. I had people looking at me on the bus and on my way to work. Its the first time since im in OC that i actually wore a tie to work. Previously i had to wear it everyday.
I reach office and i had a few good hits, about 5 says nice including my neighbour IqB, then came the first negative remarks that i was too formal? Formal? This is not even a formal shirt for god's sake. It's a slim fit shirt that's good enough to be spotted on a friday evening clubbing nite. First and foremost this shirt cost only half of my norm raoul shirts. The reason that you thought it's formal was becoz the tie was there? C'mon giv me a break... As my good buddy Raymond would say, they are saying negative remarks jus coz i know how to dress better than they do. Hmmm... i wonder if im in my own delusion? or ... Well u have to admit singaporeans aren't an adventurous lot. Most of them dress llike they are just going thru motion. I seriously do not think u need alot of money to buy the right shirt, well thats me anyway.. i hate the status quo and i have an appetite to create history. Even better i could use this as a decoy so that nobody would know which day im going for interview(like anybody cares..) Well anyway i have to entertain questions on the curiosity of my colleagues and it was about 10(nice):2(they din say not nice, just weird remarks like Cold sneers). I thought i would put this as a challenge to myself to step up a gear in my life and to throw myself out of the comfort area. It doesnt matter what they think, it only matters in what you believed and i believe this is one cool garment. On top of this i had a horrible day, the only thing that was fun was Sharon teasing me with her Email. This is for Sharon the wonderful lawyer and super mum and stay tune coz i got more crap to offer(bad day only one pic to offer,) hehe... :)

Finally this is another xtra ordinary piece of art. read my Lips...
ANTI - Radiation Golf Berms. This is soo pretty, i'm going to wrestle the nerdy singaporeans with my Crocs apparels and one Brown Leather HUMMEL shoes. All @ $50 bucks. U bet...Cheerio

Swee Lee Trip + Hello Kitty & a Darn hot day

Finally the day had arrive! Yap and meself is going to Swee LEe to buy this Hello Kitty Guitar he is head over heels with. We met up with Jia Yan over a delicious porridge and Chinese Sashimi
at Circuit Road. We head down to Swee Lee at Sim's Ave and chk those axes out. I tried out some Corts and Fenders which are pretty decent. There was this Tacoma Axe which i thought was absolutely gorgeous. But it was expensive to my liking at $2.4k

We head down to Cineleisure to pay Chris's Frens a visit. There was this flea market set up nearby an open field patch. After that we went back to Bedok to give the Hello kitty a taste of the power puff guys!!!! We slap it soo hard it actually scream mercy.. its bright pink as u can see. For a cute guitar like that it actually sounds pretty good. And futhermore Chris had already bought a PInk Gator bag to match the CUTE cat. See how Happi Chris is...?

It's another gruesome session of playing guitar, now my fingers hurts like crap. Its such a hot day i simply look tanned without going under the sun. Now the tunnel of Wheellock place awaits 2 cowboys to play their music with their Hello Kitties. So Cute rite... haha..

Reborn of the Alvarez MF90!! Tapping, Whacking and Harmonics..

The Day that we did a proper re-string on mY Alvarez with the appropriate tools. Chris came up with the idea to do some polishing to make the Axe shine. Some Oil on the frets and a motor polishing agent on the body. My Axe was xcited as i am even before putting on the strings. It was begging all the time while i hold it in my hands coming out from the soundhole "play me once you are done!". Therefore i strip her naked(the strings of coz) andSo i put DUck's(brand) oil on her Neck, slowly massaging to the top up till the temple on her head. The texture was smooth as her neck was dripping with lubricant. Now comes the heavenly body, i rub it clockwise and then anticlockwise. To cut the story short she came out wonderful and buzzing. Then i need to dress her with "EArthtone" Strings. Highly recommended by Chris as it's suppose to produce a bright tone. We did it and She was fantastic, the action was superb and i played Isato's Clarence and the tone came out sweet...

Thereafter we spent the rest of the day playing Chris's Lakewood(picture below) and my Alvarez. Chris show me Whacking to produce harmonics and the Octave harmonics as well as the Alternate Tuning plus finger tapping. Chris did it so smoothe and inspiring. We watch KAtie Melua's concert and play abit of Depapepe. We end our evening having a super sinful dinner with Roti John Specials, Fried Wings and HOr Fun at Spitz Sinpang Bedok. O Btw Chris is going to buy a Hello Kitty GUitar nx week. He even got the bag before the instrument. Chk out the pink bag, So cute rite... hehe..

The Absolutely absolute of an Absolutely absolute!

I need to buy another guitar. I need one that's unique, warmth to soothe the musician's ears. I need one to let Tommy Emanuel sign on it. I need it to improve my fundamentals, fingerpicking melodic wooden insanity. I need a MATON EG808!!!!

25th May, I had a half day off from work. April treat me to korean food for lunch. Thereafter we had Spinelli's coffee. I was xplaining to her about this Best PIC feature on my HP. She was telling me this sandwish joint's name has got something to do with KIMONO? well there u have it.. BEST Pic....

26th May, a whole day affair. Range practice at Queens with Dennis, Feebs and Kelly. we had fattening food at Botak Jones and hit the Karaoke at chinatown for a 3 hr singing session...woohoo...

Dennis with the over swing on his cobra S9 Clubs. Don't ask me why the club bent so unreal. I couldn't believe it myself. No camera tricks...

Dennis & Myself. 2 Avid golfer with 2 big brands clubs. I was horrible, horrendous, unforgivable. My hit rate was 20%. Then came a call from Raymond and I spent the entire 15 minutes talking to him on the phone on sunday shopping spree. Feebs finish all the balls..... time to go.

Kelly took this one. Up Up and away......

well it sure looks good.... unfortunately i was cursing after this. My ball did not launch on a trajectory that is satisfactory to my vision sensory perception. I like to re-iterate again, it doesn't matter if you can't hit the ball. As long as you look good, everything is fine...

Leaders are Born not made.

I was attending a course sent by my company and the facilitator named John Teo was great to watch. He was a skillful magician and the course was a 2 days break from work. I was a thorn among roses well not exactly roses, i was the only guy among 20 odds ladies. Had a great time with the aunties thru-out the 2 days thou.

One of the discussion ended up with me standing and xpresssing my views that i believed leaders are born & not made. John disagree, thereafter i xpress a specific niche on leaders such as LKY. Ah-ha, what im seeking here is the charismatic leader whom is natural rather than nurture. Whom got talents in-built under certain conditions/enviroments will pop out to be a great man. He knew where i'm coming from but he's adament that leaders can be made.

That evening i went home the thought keeps coming back. Is there such a thing post made-leader? someone without the necessary skills but could be taught? Hmm... i brainstorm a little and i'm always the person looking on the BIG picture. So i came out with this little theory of mine. The world is made up of continents and continents are made up of countries and so on and so forth. Any society with have organisations and any organisation will have a definite hierachy structure. So the thing is no matter what, a simple organisation will have a top man(CEO) and the general Clerk. In between there's a whole spectrum of ranks and if you are seated high in the pyramid u will be incharge of more personnel. So there's no such thing as a trained leader, this fake leader is a manufactured idea by the organisation. First of all they create this position because hierachy exist and there's a need for rank struture. But they are never true leaders because they exist due to a need in hierachy. They exist for the bureaucrats and the only function they have is CONTROL. Unfortunately i had witness a real scenario where the top man resign for greener pasture and someone from the bottom would take over. He is at the right place at the right time? you bet.... LEADERs r Born... not MADE...

Precepts, RAC, Dual Core & my cute Nephew

On 1st of May i went to queens range to meet Dennis and Ian for range practice, sold Ian my present golf Precepts golf set @ $330. I thought it was a good pricing for Ian considering it comes with Driver,3,5 wood , full iron set with cart bag and it is only 6 mths old. I wouldn't have sold it if i wasn't looking for something more powerful to allevate my game. My 1st choice was the cobra Carbon CB Irons which happens to have a steep pricing of $1.1k. We had lunch that day and Dennis suggested that i gave creative golf a call to check if it's open on that day and we could drive down to check it out. We arrived 10 mins later and basically majority of the clubs are second hand or on consignment. Only a few are brand new. I tried out a few clubs from mizuno, NIke etc and ended with with Taylormade Rac Steel shaft Irons, that happen to be my second choice. It about time i try out a steel shaft irons and with a pricing of $550 i only need to top up slightly. Well few days later i went to the range and hit some real nasty balls. can't launch the ball as high as i wanted and can't seems to hit the sweet spot. Guess it's back to the text books again.

I spent the enitre week after range practice fixing my new PC as i had to give my old P4 2Ghz wif 1 G RAM to my bro. It was giving me such a headache on wondering what's wrong with it as it can't even start the initial read up on MB. Spent 2 days on trial & error and finally found the problem with one of the Rams. IHAd to fix up 2 PCs so you could imagine how messy my room is. Went Sim Lim and shop for upgrades and ended up with new Bundle MB+3.2GHz Dual core @ $478 including a coolmaster power Sup. My ordeal ended and with a 4 hour run time on 2 PCs running concurrently. I had to fix it and get it done with so that i could leave my room neat to play my guitar again. The technological delay is killing my creative vibes.

Jam with Chris on Sat again and he had shown me Depapepe's wedding bell first phase. Im beginning to like the way i do the harmonics. This fingerstyle is kicking ass and i hope we could be able to perform a depapepe's piece soon. Well i'm going off soon to meet CHris and hopefully Raymond up at new Creation @ suntec but the weather doesn't look good. Tonite finaly EPL game, let's hope it's a Robbie Fowler farewell party!! Cheers....

What a Weekend!! Kimura's Drama finally Arrives in 2 Disc!

Sat was spent at Warren Country Club with Dennis the Menace trying out his KING COBRA S9. The Hottest property in golfing world. It's my first time at Warren and it's looks pretty decent on the golf course and the range. Of coz we are far off from being rich to be a members however the range was open to the public. 2nd reason it's near my place and i get the xclusive drive in and the parking was FOC. The Mat was thick n new and it's easy to get the ball in flight, i try out my Precept clubs b4 i try on Denni's Cobras. They were Fierce.. way cool deep thick cavity on the back. I made a few swings with clubs and most were caught on the sweet spot. Went home after that with much satisfaction.

I had the privilege to be watching Takuya's Latest Drama and the Drama that i had miss out previously. This is by far one of the intriguing drama after "SLeeping forest". 1 Suspense Story + 3 Pretty Babes. I ask for 2 but i got 4. The title was "one out of a million stars" and i check out the latest Drama that kelly had lend to me and i can't believe the footage it contains. The Scenery was exemplifying. It looks gooood, i don't know shit about films but the so call "cinematography" was excellent. I had to sms Ray(happens to be a fanatic) about the shows.

Sunday i was with Yap, we jam from 4-7pm. It's the first time we jam English, Mandarin and Canto songs with him. Hilarious and funny, we try out songs from Smashing pumpkins, u2, Depeche mode, Norah JOnes, Jacky Cheung, Eric Clapton Etc. It was by far an En hoc session and Yap was as spontaneous as ever. We were xperimenting on the Digital Recorder "Zoom H4" with built in Condenser MIc. We recorded about 10 songs and soon enough i will post 1-2 songs on the blog which i got no idea how to. Yap's Mum made pumpkin rice so i had dinner that night and we chatted on the dining table. We finish off the last segment of Isato's "Clarence" which i was determine to learn it by today. We ended our evening with tea at East coast. now im listening to myself with the recorded tracks, i think i sound weird singin english songs... hmm.. how do i get the mp3 onto my blog....

(it's funny i can't find my own comments till my goody friend found my name @ a strange website... as usual i was teasing the girls actually.... hehe)
'Dr Love' educates on sex, diet, travel in new magazine

Associated Press October 18, 2006SINGAPORE By TANALEE SMITH THE two young women in short, red dresses and white go-go boots attracted stares from the lunchtime crowd in Singapore's busy Raffles Place financial district.
Carrying a lollipop sign reading, "Better Sex at Love Airways magazine," they asked passers-by to stop and take a sexual habits survey. They had few takers; most people politely avoided them - not a surprise in Singapore, a tightly controlled city-state with a straight-laced reputation and a love of conservative "Asian values."
But the women's boss Wei Siang Yu, aka Dr Love, believes Singaporeans are actually open-minded when it comes to sex, and are certain to take to his new "adult edutainment" magazine.
"We haven't been modern in the way we talk about sex," said Wei, 37, his trademark thick square glasses pushed up on his forehead. "Love Airways is a community platform to get it all out there, to talk about the new ways sex can evolve."
The magazine - to hit newsstands at the end of the month at S$4.50 (US$2.85; €2.25) - follows Wei's late-night sex-advice television program of the same name, which achieved moderate popularity late last year.
The magazine's reception may provide intimate insight into this wealthy island republic of 4.2 million, where sexual activity has in recent years ranked among the lowest in worldwide Internet surveys by condom maker Durex.
Singapore bans pornography, but does allow sex shops that sell a wide range of products.
Love Airways is not pornographic; the few nude photographs in the first issue are artsy shots in heavy shadow.
The country's Media Development Board, which issues magazine licenses, does not vet local publications, but can withdraw a license if a magazine receives too many complaints.
Wei acknowledged he may have to self-censor in order to keep his license.
The magazine covers a broad range of topics, with articles on vaginal surgery, diets to maintain healthy sperm and eggs, and reviews of Japanese sex hotels.
"Singaporeans are becoming more open, less black and white," he insists, saying he has received thousands of text messages from people asking for help in improving their sex lives.
But under the glare of the noonday sun in Raffles Square, Singaporeans did not seem ready to share.
"Sure, it's refreshing in the Singapore context," bank employee Nate Yong, 32, said of Dr. Love's efforts. But he refused the young women's request to take the survey, saying he had stopped only because they were attractive.
However, he said he planned to buy the magazine's first issue to see what it was all about. "Singapore needs to be shaken up a bit," he said.

TGIF@ Paulaners Brahaus Millenia Walk

Yap & myself mit up at marina at 645, had coffee and then we walk down to Pauleners. Upon arriving, David was alrdy strumming away and singing the pop tunes. We order 2 house brew Munich Lager lite and the beer was tasty. David's session came to an end and came down the stage for a break. It was the 2nd time i was introduced to David, the first was at Wala Wala but that was ages ago. This time we chatted for about 30 mins. The topic was spectacularly of a wide spectrum from fingerstyle Artist such as Isato, Tommy Emmanuel, local musicians such as Shirlyn, Jack, Cat Wong, the unxpected, DIC. David was realli nice and frenly with the casual dialect remarks that he put in his conversation to make it easy home boy style. From bridges to repair on guitars and pickups. David went up for the 2nd session b4 he need to make his way to MArina Mandarin for his 2nd session of the nite. First song came REM "losing my religion". Both Yap & myself agreed David was "the" guitarist, with his technique and composure while his co-singer (can't rem his name) sing along. Then he played fingerstyle Tommy Emmanuel piece which was sweet for us but not exactly for the audience. I joke about us playing like THIs to thrash those silly fella @ HArk music.. Fuckers.. silly fuckers. Make my blood boils everytime i think of that bladdy faggot piece of monkey crap. I ask Yap that David's composure on stage might be he is alrdy numb due to his vast experience. Yap agreed and said that David advise to him during one of those visit, " go him just whack!!!"," anyhow just whack". Once again i told Yap we sld do a alternative rock mandarin version. Well we both agreed sometimes it's all down to subjectivity..... could we possibly rock the crowd?the country? the whole of SE asia? ambitious.. yeah im..
